CHS Blasts: “Bringing Life and Spirit Through Sports”

The MAPEH Department celebrated its annual sports festival on September 17-19 wherein more than 5000 CHSians witnessed the fabulous opening day with an hour of parade of athletes, students, teachers and officials.

Students have trully waited this yearly gathering because this is a one-time, big participation that they have been waiting for. This is an exciting moment for the to display their hidden skills in dancing, singing and playing sports regardless of the money that they have spend for P.E. uniforms and take extra time for rehearsals.

There was an overflowing joy in everyone’s face because thay again gathered for a cause. It’s the building up of SPORTSMANSHIP.

During the competition, from the most to the least game, it was observed that there was no instance of negative reactions towards defeat among athletes, win or loss, instead, they exercised goos camaraderie. They appreciated all the activities set for that 3-day sports festivals especially the first year students. No dull moments for each day of the festival for most cheered and laughed for the victory of every winner. This is another handsome point for the department for they have carefully and seriously planned the details of the event for the best entertainment for the CHSians.

This however, proved that CHS excels in both academic and co-curricular activities. Students are well-disciplined and appreciative in terms of sports linked activities. This is the best value that they have learned from their teachers as well as from their parents.

If this wouls be the kind of activity that every school would have, for sure each would have a positive outlook on the values formation of students that will eventually eradicate students’ negative extra-curricular activities after school time.

With this year’s theme, CHS Blasts: “Bringing Life and Spirit Through Sports”, CHS is one hundred percent in unity of sports in the attainment of producing globally competent athletes towards the essence of true SPORTSMANSHIP.
